Department creates a website that explains the new bill to veterans.
The Department of Veterans Affairs announced the launch of a new website in tandem with the Senate’s passage of the Sergeant First Class Heath Robinson Honoring Our Promise to Address Comprehensive Toxics Act, or PACT Act. The Act adds 23 new illnesses to the list of ailments caused by airborne toxins found on the line of duty that are covered by VA health care and benefits.
The bill enabling this new health coverage is expected to be signed into law very soon by President Joe Biden. “For the millions of veterans who may have been exposed to harmful toxins, this bill means quicker access to health care services and other benefits,” the president said. “This could be the difference between life and death for many suffering from toxic-related illnesses.”
